What the service includes
During the service, we inspect every element of your Grasshopper buggy for electrical and mechanical faults. The chains and axles are inspected, cleaned and greased to help keep the drive system operating correctly.
We connect the control box to our specialist testing equipment to check for stored errors, operating faults and other issues within the system.
We recommend replacing the motor brushes every two years. Regular brush replacement reduces wear within the motors and helps extend their working life.
We also inspect the dashboard panels and the wiring behind them. This is particularly important on older Grasshopper models, where ageing wiring and connections require careful attention.
Electrical system upgrades
Electrical faults are among the most common problems found on older Grasshopper buggies. Many are still fitted with early control boxes, including older Curtis units that are now obsolete or increasingly difficult to support.
We use a modern controller that provides an effective and efficient replacement. We can also install a complete updated electrical system, including a purpose-designed dashboard, controller and protected wiring loom. These components are designed to operate together and bring an older buggy up to current standards.
The dashboard is fully modular, with no permanently soldered components. Each individual part can be disconnected and replaced separately, making future diagnosis and repairs much more straightforward.
Where the original motors remain in good working order, they are compatible with this newly designed electrical system—the same modern system used on the GH25.
Lithium battery options
We offer a range of 24-volt lithium battery options for Grasshopper buggies. Conventional lithium-ion batteries are widely used, while lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries offer excellent usable capacity, consistent performance and a long service life.
We fit high-capacity lithium iron phosphate batteries to our rental models, where dependable range and longevity are especially important. These premium batteries cost more than a standard battery option, but their capacity and durability make them well suited to intensive use.
Choosing the right capacity
- 36Ah: suited to flatter golf courses where the buggy is not regularly tackling steep gradients.
- 42Ah: our standard all-round option for typical courses, including courses with some steeper hills.
- 50Ah: the top-of-the-range option, providing the greatest capacity and power reserve for demanding or extended use.
Every lithium battery must be used with the correct approved charger for its particular chemistry and specification. We will supply or confirm the appropriate charging equipment for the battery fitted to your buggy.

Mechanical repairs

Support for classic and current models
We work with Grasshopper Classic, Cobra, Junior and newer models. Where an original component is no longer available, we can advise whether a suitable modern replacement exists.
